Digital photography was used in astronomy long before its use by the general public and had almost completely displaced photographic plates by the early 1980s. Photography can also be viewed as a commercial and artistic endeavor. It is important to note that the differences between film and digital photography are far less significant than the differences between painting and film photography. The commercial photographic world could include Advertising photography. These are photographs made to illustrate and usually sell a service or product. At the highest-end, some digital cameras are nothing but a sophisticated light-sensing unit. Fine art photography includes photographs made to fulfill a vision, and reproduced to be sold directly to the customer. Landscape photography are photographs of different locations often made to be sold to tourists as prints or postcards. Currently digital photography, disposable cameras and even camera-phones continue to make photography part of our lives. Color photography was first explored beginning in the mid 1800s. Helps you master the digital photography techniques you need to succeed. Gives you all the photography basics you need to take control of your high-performance camera. Many photographers agree that the commercially produced cameras were the single biggest drive to popularize the art form.

Sent from the road.

Just now realized how overexposed the picture is. Oh well. I had left my computer at home today... Dropped off the above camera at the Nippon Camera Clinic. The rangefinder was not really focussing on infinity somehow. The adjustment cost about $125 on the Leica M9. But it is apparently going to cost about $250 on the Hexar. Let’s see what happens. I had to leave the entire setup at the shop. (without film and ND filter.) Hope to get this little squeaker back early next week. I wish this camera had a stealth mode. It is loud, even in a New York street. I wonder if that’s what killed this product. It is pretty good otherwise.

The first SLRs and the 35mm format was it for us all for so many years, where has it all gone? Well, I have "a few" 35mm cameras and don't really use them much. but when I hold one again and play with it all the joy comes back.

I've loaded these two bad boys up with some cheap Kodak film, and I want to go and shoot them off somewhere, just to see what the results are like, see if they're as bad as I remember. Will post the results when I get round to it.

Kodak moment

Got this 1937 Kodak Six-20 Folding Brownie for someone but after seeing it, I was very tempted to keep it for myself. Still, being the really nice guy that I am, I eventually did gift it but now, I do plan on getting one for myself. Since the person involved here was quite special, this is more than just a camera for me now - it symbolizes a lot more, be it the good things or the bad :)

The Collection Surprises Me

As something to do over the new year, I thought I would go through the collection and take a few pictures of what I have and fire off the shutters to keep them in order. I have been telling people that my collection must amount to 30 cameras but shockingly I have over 65. Ye Gods! How do it come to this?
