Fine art photography includes photographs made to fulfill a vision, and reproduced to be sold directly to the customer. Landscape photography are photographs of different locations often made to be sold to tourists as prints or postcards. Color photography was first explored beginning in the mid 1800s. Digital photography has also been adopted by many amateur snapshot photographers, who take advantage of the convenience of the form when sending images by email, placing them on the World Wide Web, or displaying them in digital picture frames. Photography is used to preserve memories of favorite times, to capture special moments, to tell stories, to send messages, and as a source of entertainment. Photography as a usable process goes back to the 1820s with the development of chemical photography. Photography is a unique and creative medium of self-expression. Fashion and glamour photography usually incorporates models. The aesthetics of photography is a matter that continues to be discussed regularly, especially in artistic circles. With the acceptable image quality and the other advantages of digital photography, particularly the time constraints of vital importance to newspapers, the majority of professional news photographers have begun capturing their images with digital cameras. At the highest-end, some digital cameras are nothing but a sophisticated light-sensing unit.

i´ve been tagged by Annie.
so here we go... with 16 random facts about me:

i was born on december 31th. it was a sunday.

i grew up and always lived in cities.
this could be the reason why i find horses and cows quite scary.

one of my earliest childhood memories is from a trip with my parents to the baltic sea:
a beached dead whale and lots of people gathering around.

the praktica in the picture was the first camera i ever owned. it was a christmas gift from my grandma. after it got lost for many years in some removal - i found it amongst my stuff last year and had it refurbished.

i was a bmx biker and skateboarder in my teens. scars prove i wasn’t really good at it.

i bought my first chuck taylors when i was fourteen. ever since i owned at least one pair.

i was lead singer in an alternative rock band during my highschool years. there´s a poster from one of the festivals we played shown here on flickr.

i can´t leave arguments unresolved.

i drink a silly amount of coffee every day.

some years ago while on holidays in portugal i dreamt of my godmother.
my mum called me the next day and told me that my godmother had died the day before.

i´m a movie addict.

i have a younger brother. and i make a blurry appearance on his flickrstream.

i´m fascinated by ants and other social insects.

my iPod currently contains 5868 songs.
most played song is the world you love from jimmy eat world.

i´m shortsighted and wear contacts.

i believe the truth is out there.

this old beauty was given to me by my girlfriend´s dad who found it amongst his dad´s stuff. her solid metal body is somewhat battered and bruised but the lens seemed to be fully intact and clear. so i got some 120 roll film and gave it a try. the roll will be developed soon and i´m anxious to see if the shutter is still working properly.

the nettar folding cams were made by the zeiss ikon company from the 1930´s till the late 50´s. this one is a nettar 515/2 which i learned were released in 1937. more info about the nettar series here
