Conceptual photography turns a concept or idea into a photograph. Photography can also be viewed as a commercial and artistic endeavor. The aesthetics of photography is a matter that continues to be discussed regularly, especially in artistic circles. Digital photography has also been adopted by many amateur snapshot photographers, who take advantage of the convenience of the form when sending images by email, placing them on the World Wide Web, or displaying them in digital picture frames. There are photography articles and guides. Photography is used to preserve memories of favorite times, to capture special moments, to tell stories, to send messages, and as a source of entertainment. Photography as a usable process goes back to the 1820s with the development of chemical photography. Photography is a unique and creative medium of self-expression. The technology has improved so rapidly that one of Kodak's film cameras was discontinued before it was awarded a "camera of the year" award later in the year. Discover a wide range of digital cameras at low prices. You should learn about lenses, exposure, and other basic techniques used in the many different types of photography.

Simplified Settle Wier
paulspencerwilliamsuk posted a photo:
I took this shot on the last day of our minimoon. We left the Lake District on Monday due to poor weather and drive into the Yorkshire Dales as it looked brighter.
It was still a wet day, but we did manage to see the Ribbleshead Viaduct, and the three peaks. Finally, we stopped off at Settle for lunch and a quick walk up the river. This wier is at an hydroelectric station and I would have tried a different composition if I could have changed to the Tokina 11-16mm but it was too windy to change lenses outside.
I could also have moved slightly to the left to capture the backgroun chimney whilst not having the dark area on the far right but maybe next time...

Furnace sunset

Following a day of programming, I took a quick local drive this afternoon to get a shot for #project52. As I drove up through Donisthorpe, i noticed this view of Moira Furnace.
I quickly parked the car and walked up to the side of the canal. I took 6 exposures and merged using Photomerge and cropped slightly.

During today's walk, I took shots of several waterfalls. This was my favourite waterfall, but just couldn't get the composition to do it justice.
Waterfall in the sun

As my first #project52 entry, I thought I'd choose one my favourite subjects - waterfalls.
Today, Cheryl and I drove up to the Dark Peak for a walk. Initially, we drove over to Castleton, planning to walk up Cave Dale and over to Mam Tor. However, the strong winds suggested otherwise. Therefore, after a quick stroll, we returned to the car and drove over to Fairholmes.
Parked at the visitor's centre, we walked up Ladybower west bank up to Howden Dam. The reservoir was absolutely full - lots of water pouring over the dams. Just before Howden dam, we found a few small waterfalls, this being the most photogenic. After following a natural course down the hill, it is channelled through a small tunnel behind this wall into the dam.
I was quite happy with the photo's taken today - the light varied from flat when the sun disappeared behind the clouds, through to brilliant directional light. A great walk all in all.
